Educators Gain Practical Skills at Oct. 25 Training

On October 25, educators from more than 15 schools in Clark County gathered to learn from Washington Green Schools, community partners, and each other, about how to lead a Green Team to greatness! They learned more about the Washington Green Schools certification process, including new resources from WAGS that will help educators involve students in the certification data gathering and reporting process. They learned activities, tools, and tips for leading effective Green Team meetings and guiding students through identifying an environmental action project at their school. Representatives from Clark Public Utilities, Waste Connections, Clark County Clean Water, WSU Extension SNAP Ed met with educators to share their resources and ideas for projects to certify in Water, Waste & Recycling, School Grounds & Gardens, and Healthy School Buildings.

Thank you to the educators and partners who came together to make our Green Schools community stronger, and to help each other in this important work!

Remember, we're here to help you with your environmental action projects throughout the year. Check out our revamped "Education" page with information about the educational experiences we offer. We also added a new "Local Field Trips and Presentations" page to help you connect with local partners, even if you couldn't make it to the training. The page includes information about local resources for field trips, in-class presentations, and online resources designed for students and educators.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact us with your questions - we'd love to help you find success with your sustainability projects this year!
