On October 25, educators from more than 15 schools in Clark County gathered to learn from Washington Green Schools, community partners, and each other, about how to lead a Green Team to greatness! They learned more about the Washington Green Schools certification process, including new resources from WAGS that will help educators involve students in the certification data gathering and reporting process. They learned activities, tools, and tips for leading effective Green Team meetings and guiding students through identifying an environmental action project at their school. Representatives from Clark Public Utilities, Waste Connections, Clark County Clean Water, WSU Extension SNAP Ed met with educators to share their resources and ideas for projects to certify in Water, Waste & Recycling, School Grounds & Gardens, and Healthy School Buildings. 

Teacher Trainings provide opportunities for educators and Green Team leaders from different schools and different districts to get together.
Educators can get their certification questions answered by Washington Green Schools staff.
The trainings provide resources and information to new and veteran Green Team leaders, and highlight resources like those on the Washington Green Schools website.
Teachers can trade tips for success and get advice from other Green Team leaders.
At this training, Green Team leaders got to practice analyzing data and understand how to complete the data collection piece of certification and how to get students involved with the data to practice math and science skills.
Educators practiced evaluating data resulting from real examples of school lasting change projects.
Green Team leaders were able to share their experience with project data and ask each other questions.
