Clark County hosts our annual Green Awards each winter at Kiggins Theater and one of the awards handed out that night is the Green Apple Award. The award is given to a person working in a school who has shown dedication and leadership in environmental education for youth. This could be a teacher, green team leader, custodian, etc.
Educators and school employees merit this award because of their outstanding efforts in educating students in issues of environmental conservation, and in leading their schools towards a sustainable future. Green Apple Award nominees demonstrate their ability to teach youth about environmental protection and resource conservation in a classroom and/or through school community projects.
The Green Awards is set for March 20th at Kiggins Theater. Save the date!
We rely exclusively on nominations from the community for this award. Our Clark County Green Schools staff doesn't nominate, so we need you to step up and nominate someone doing great work in your school. You can also nominate yourself!
Click here to find out how to nominate someone! Nominations are due January 15th.
Other awards handed out that night are:
- Green Business of the Year (large and small)
- Master Composter Recycler Superstar
- Green Neighbor Award
