I loved the opporunity to work with students and educate about waste reduction.

May 3rd will be my last day at Clark County leading the Green Schools program as I will be moving on to start my own consulting business. One of my projects will be creating more opportunity for youth to access nature, so we may interact again!

I am so grateful for the time I've had with so many of you. Your work inspires me. You inspire me. In my five plus years in this job I've had the privilege of working with so many of you; seeing your projects in action, seeing you interact with your students, visiting and brainstorming ideas and solutions. I've loved trying to problem solve and connect people. I deeply value our community of school employees, parents, community partners, all working together to give students a richer, more meaningful connection with our earth.

Probably the highlight of my five years in this role would be the milk dispenser pilot project. I loved being innovative and trying something new. We couldn't have done that work without our partners at Evergreen, Hockinson, Battle Ground, Camas and Washougal school districts. The Washington Department of Ecology is using our case study to make recommendations to the legislature to secure more funding and support to spread that project statewide. I look forward to seeing what can happen from our work here in Clark County.

I am grateful to all my partners. We have created quite a network of environmental educators and organizations working together to further sustainability in our schools. I am happy to have been a part of that and know that will continue to grow and reap rich rewards for our students and our environment.

Thank you for all for your partnership over the years. I look forward to seeing what will happen next for Clark County Green Schools.

Working with our great AmeriCorps crew at Laurin Middle School. Teamwork was always a high value for the Green Schools team.
With the EarthGen/Washington Green Schools team at their annual fundraiser. They are such great partners!
A highlight was presenting this champion for kids and the environment with the Green Apple Award, pandemic style. Congrats Nancy Stoy!
With Waste Connections educator Ellen Ives at Dirt Hugger compost facility. Ellen has been an amazing teammate in this work. I couldn't ask for a better partner.
